So we landed safely and are checked into our hotel... Maybe motel is a better word for it...nevertheless it is company paid and it's FREE!! Had our first outing and experienced the Shanghai metro and coming from NYC it wasn't a major shock. You conquer NYC subway you can tackle them all. Plan was to visit a street market. Low and behold we stumble upon the world renowned lol fake market. Yeah think canal street but indoors. Working on taking more photos just that I love my iPhone 5 and we have only been together for a few months and I would hate to get "apple -picked " so soon! (You will get that on the drive home -pastor kirbyjohn always says). Day 1 accomplished on to Day 2. Oh I forgot to add first night I googled food delivery and yes I found a food delivery service in China Sherpa.com. We had pizza and pasta. Ok no more food we can get in the USA. Local food only from now on. Yes Starbucks is considered local.... 😉

So house is rented and living in transition with 2 teenagers and a toddler. Yeah big fun. Currently squatting on the upper level of Godpops and Mimi house. 20 more days and off to China. Had some minor preliminary visa issues with the 19yo thank goodness after much research and info sharing from two awesome "DE MOMS" and the handy dandy Chengduliving forum (aka the wikipedia of Chengdu ), we are back on track. Let's see how my first experience applying for travel visas goes. Stay tuned.
